Journal of Design Proofs

How does the design process work when you order a sign from SignSpecialist.com? Below you will find our running journal of designs and sign specifications for Magnetic Signs, Banners, Yard Signs, Metal Signs, Temporary Signs, and Truck Lettering. These are actual orders from previous customers.

Our journal is updated daily with new designs. We only post in our journal the initial layout designed to the customers specifications. By the time the sign goes in production, many times, the design has changed dramatically from the initial proof you'll see below. Such is the nature of the design process. Never-the-less, this should give you a good feel as to how we and our customers design custom sign orders. If you have any questions, as usual, let us know - we'll be glad to help.

Hello. Please check out the attached. It should give you a ‘close up’ on the lettering not provided online. Let me know if this is a ‘go’.

Answers to you comments / questions

1. Your lettering will be produced in the color requested 073 Dark Yellow

2. Space has been added in the following rendering. Letters will be mailed as seperate pieces. Spacing of the letters will be up to you – as requested for your application

3. Good question! First, note that we recommend that we send the 2 color letters in 2 pieces to prevent bubble problems for you during application. But this is up to you. It may seem like more work to have to install each color…. but if installed ‘all at once’ as one piece, if you get any bubbles because of ‘bad squeeqee technique’ they are next to impossible to get out. But, by installing in 2 layers, any problems (bubbles, creases, etc…) can easily be fixed. But again, it is up to you,,,, we can do it either way.

If you go with the two layer application, it opens a ‘cool’ idea with regard to your question 3. While you can install ALL the lettering on the outside and it will be durable – and it is normally how we recommend, since decals installed on the inside are slightly more subdued when viewed from the outside – having one color on the inside (the blue) and the other on the outside (the yellow) will add a cool 3D look. The only drawback will be the blue will be slightly more subdued installed on the inside.

The adhesive concern is a good one. Our adhesive is clear. With an inside application it will take a few good days of sun for the vinyl to draw down completely when viewed from the outside – and this will only be visible with ‘the nose to the glass’ or upclose. After this, no evidence of adhesive will show.

If you have any questions let me know.

Thanks

Toby

CUSTOMERS CONCERNS AND QUESTIONS:
Hello, I just ordered some letters for our shop window. My order # is 101248. A few things that I would like to add. I had previously spoke with Toby ( who was of great help I might add!) I did decide to just go with a standard font instead of my own special font. 1. For the color yellow I would like to use (073 Dark Yellow). 2. Is it possible to add a little space between each letter? Each letter will be installed on an individual window pane, so I need the ability to cut each letter off. 3. I’m not sure which side of the letters should have the adhesive. Is it better to have the letters installed on the inside of the window facing out? My only concern is that you would be able to see adhesive from the outside through the window. Or will it look better just installing them on the outside with the adhesive part not showing? Any advice would be appreciated.
