How does the design process work when you order a sign from SignSpecialist.com? Below you will find our running journal of designs and sign specifications for Magnetic Signs, Banners, Yard Signs, Metal Signs, Temporary Signs, and Truck Lettering. These are actual orders from previous customers.
Our journal is updated daily with new designs. We only post in our journal the initial layout designed to the customers specifications. By the time the sign goes in production, many times, the design has changed dramatically from the initial proof you'll see below. Such is the nature of the design process. Never-the-less, this should give you a good feel as to how we and our customers design custom sign orders. If you have any questions, as usual, let us know - we'll be glad to help.

Hello. Thanks again for your order.
Attached you will a layout for your truck lettering idea. Let me know what you think.
Keep in mind monitors vary GREATLY in the way they display colors. If an exact color match is needed, samples can be mailed right out. Gold metallic is just IMPOSSIBLE. There is just no way to show the vividness of the color on a monitor. I do have one suggestion: We have some gold leaf vinyl that looks real nice. Attached is an example – again keep in mind the limitation of the monitor. No extra charge for gold leaf.
The first layout is the ‘shop favorite’. It allows the name to be on one line (only draw back is slightly smaller letters) and incorporates a ‘logo’ using the artwork mentioned. The other layouts use the other fonts you mentioned. Note that cursive does not look good arched (commercial, brisk).
Once we get the final ‘go ahead’ your signs will mail within 1 working day. If you have any questions let me know.
Thanks
Toby
Truck lettering details: Custom Truck Lettering; Size14X32; Price100; Colors gold lettering; maybe black shadows; see below; Desired Fonts and Text Please design truck lettering using what’s below as a rough guidline. Lettering will be installed on the door of a dark forest green F250 extended cab PU. Colors; size and font should be at your discretion but some fonts that I like are Romana; Brisk; Commercial Script & Beagle. Desired text: Quality Manufacturing Services Reading; PA (slightly smaller) The “QMS” should stand out more than the rest of the letters and be grouped or patterned together. Maybe highlighted by a third color outline? or maybe just larger and set apart slightly. The “Reading; PA” could be separate in it’s own area of 6X32 (below door molding) if it’s crowded in the 14×32 area. Additional cost would not be an issue. Also; if you can do it; an additional graphic depicting a micrometer in an area approx. 6″x10″ (rear doors). A sample can be seen at http://www.fotosearch.com/UNC113/102-00649/ If used; the sample shown should be rotated 10-15 degrees counter clockwise and would then be ready for the drivers side back door. Again; I ask you to control size color and shading as you see fit. Thanks for your help. Jim
