{"id":677,"date":"2024-06-27T21:45:30","date_gmt":"2024-06-27T21:45:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/signspecialist.com\/faq\/?page_id=677"},"modified":"2024-06-28T00:07:07","modified_gmt":"2024-06-28T00:07:07","slug":"how-do-you-make-application-fluid","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/signspecialist.com\/faq\/questions-about-application\/how-do-you-make-application-fluid\/","title":{"rendered":"How do you make &#8220;Application Fluid&#8221;?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 95%; min-width: 250px; margin: auto; float: left; padding: 40px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.signspecialist.com\/ss-recipe1.svg\" alt=\"application fluid recipe?\" \/>Application fluid goes by various names.\u00a0 Rapid Tac and Sure Glide are both brands we have used in the past.\u00a0 Currently\u00a0we make our own.\u00a0This gives us more control since depending on the time of the year, the application fluid will work differently.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the recipe?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"padding-bottom: 15px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 1.1em; line-height: 1.2em;\"><strong>1 gallon of distilled water<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n(not city water with added chemicals, not mineral water, well, with added minerals.\u00a0 Pure and simple distilled water will not leave any chemical residue under your graphic)<\/li>\n<li style=\"padding-bottom: 15px; line-height: 1.1em;\"><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em;\"><strong>1.5 ounces to 2 ounces of baby shampoo<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n(Nothing fancy.\u00a0 No detangler, no added fragrances, no coloring.\u00a0 The simpler\u00a0the better.)\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In the summer increase the amount of baby shampoo up to 2 ounces.\u00a0 With cooler weather even just 1 ounce is more than enough.\u00a0 Really in cold weather the wet application method is not ideal (it can take a long time to adhere).\u00a0 The more baby shampoo the slower the drying time.<\/li>\n<li style=\"padding-bottom: 15px; line-height: 1.1em;\"><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em;\"><strong>1 ounce of denatured alcohol<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n(Denatured\u00a0alcohol\u00a0increases adhesion.\u00a0 So less to none in the summer or real hot days)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That&#8217;s it!\u00a0 3 ingredients\u00a0and you have the best application fluid possible.\u00a0 Pour some in a squirt bottle and spray as a fine mist to either the surface or the back side of the graphic.
